No-Land is an interdisciplinary collective that holds space for dialogue and connection between people, approaches, and ways of knowing within its academy. In its design studio, it supports the transformation of ideas into situated products, services, and processes.

A process of still unfolding…

2019-2025

We’ve been working and experimenting together over the past five years.

At No__Land, we develop projects that explore how design can engage with traditional crafts in regions undergoing environmental and social transitions. Through collaborations with local artisans and cultural practitioners, we investigate how stories, skills, and material practices might adapt, transform, or resist in the face of change.

These projects are grounded in field visits and situated research, treating traditional objects not as static artifacts, but as evolving narratives. We use design to rediscover, reinterpret, and extend these narratives through processes of collaborative making and critical dialogue.

In one of our workplace-focused collaborations, we were invited to enhance satisfaction and effectiveness within a large tech company in West Asia. While the initial brief centered on redesigning physical workspaces, our human-centered design research expanded the scope to address deeper organizational and cultural dimensions.

We explored how employees communicate, collaborate, and navigate their everyday work environments. Through generative sessions, we identified key challenges and co-developed practical, people-centered interventions. Prototypes were tested in real-world conditions and refined through feedback. The outcomes included not only spatial changes, but also new tools, practices, and cultural protocols to support healthier and more inclusive work environments. To ensure continuity, we delivered a set of decision-making resources: an insights database, curated service connections, and a portfolio of design principles and proposals for future adaptation.
